Madrid

Madrid is a great weekend destination. Located on the river Manzanares in the center of Spain, it is a compact city and easy to navigate on foot. As Spain’s capital it is the country’s political and commercial centre, and is also home to the Spanish Royal Family. Madrid is a city of great cultural importance, some of the world’s greatest museums and galleries are found here, such as the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Enjoy a stroll through the narrow side-streets of Old Madrid or just sit back and absorb the atmosphere around the busy Puerta del Sol.
